Is there a best position to get pregnant? Can you position yourself 'strategically' during copulation to achieve a pregnancy?
Science has explained that positioning yourself in a certain way during copulation will enhance your chances to conceive.
For many couples, copulation is a natural behaviour that doesn't need guidance. Nature has it that the sperm will swim upstream to the cervix regardless of the sexual position you're engaged in when you have intercourse.
However, for couples out there who like to do things the 100% way, there is a so-called best position to get pregnant!
Let's apply a special tactical manoeuvre to get into the right and best position to get pregnant, shall we? Or would you? (Nothing to do with me here). There is indeed a special position you can leverage on to get the sperm deposited very near to the entrance of the cervix, thus maximizing its chances of meeting and fertilizing the egg.
It is a simple manoeuvre that doesn't require the supervision of medical professionals. And, you won't break your back doing it. But, please do this at home, will you? Thank you.
This special tactical position is known as the 'missionary' position.
"What?" you may ask.
"With the man on top!"
Ta da!
Yup, it's that simple. This is the best and most natural position to get pregnant! Given its simplicity, this 'secret' is almost a no-brainer!
Yet, very often, the simplest and most natural way is usually 'The Way', or 'The Position'. In fact, this common position among couples is one that is favored by doctors helping those with difficulty conceiving.
This is the best position to get pregnant and is favored over the other positions such as sitting, standing or with you on top. With the other sexual positions, it is hard for the sperm to get near your cervix as gravity is pulling them in the other direction.
To ensure that the semen stay long enough in your cervix entrance and swim up, some doctors even suggest that you put a pillow under your hips during intercourse. The trick is to use a pillow of the right size, not too large lest it causes the sperm to pool behind your cervix instead of being deposited at its entrance.
There is a problem here. You may not like having a pillow under you. It may interfere with your movement and prevent you from reaching an orgasm. Other than pleasure, female orgasm actually aids conception as it contracts your uterus so that sperm can be drawn up into the reproductive tract. It also serves to relax you and make it conducive for your body to receive the sperm. There are women who would just use a pillow for maximum results.
So you have just engaged in the best position to get pregnant, is that all that's required of you?
Some doctors come out with interesting recommendations on what to do next. You're asked to either stand on your head or remain in bed while holding your knees near your chest for about half an hour after copulation! This is using gravity to your advantage, get it?
This sounds extreme. I won't advise it unless you possess a high level of martial art skills.
The most sensible recommendation I've heard so far is to lie in bed for about half an hour following intercourse to provide a window of opportunity for the sperm to swim past the cervix. It makes sense not to jump out of bed right away for a wash when you're trying to conceive.
So there you have it. Whatever tactical manoeuvre you choose is entirely up to you. Just be sure that you don't get all tangled up after that!
Secret Weapon
To Be Used In Conjunction With Your Best Position To Get Pregnant!
Besides lying down after intercourse, there is a pregnancy aid you can use to enhance conception!
Use a 'Softcup' as a reservoir to keep sperm close to your cervix!
A Softcup is actually a menstrual cup. Couples trying to conceive have discovered that this menstrual cup has a new application as a fertility aid!
So how do you use the safe, hypo-allergenic Softcup to increase your chances of conceiving a baby? Easy! Instead of inserting the Softcup during your periods, use it following lovemaking to help pool and hold sperm around the cervix! Alternately, semen can be directly deposited into the Softcup reservoir and inserted directly into the vagina and around the cervix.
By combining the Softcup with laying down you'll have a great strategy to keep sperm where they need to be - pooled against the cervix so they can pass into the uterus and fertilize your egg. Couples using this strategy have reported some success stories!
Read up more on the Softcup here and how to use it here.
